I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with over a decade of experience in higher education. I taught at Middlesex University for ten years where I led the undergraduate Theatre programme. My teaching practice is centred on inclusion and community building, and I have taught across a wide range of disciplines including theatre directing, actor training and arts management. I have designed several courses and degree programmes, including the UK’s first MA in Creative Entertainment Technologies for distance-learning students, and I recently co-authored an article for a special issue of Theatre, Dance and Performance Training focused on director training. I regularly direct large-scale productions with student actors, and hold an external examiner role for the Acting and Musical Theatre degree programmes at New College Lanarkshire. I am also qualified to deliver the Gold Arts Award within the framework approved by Trinity College London. Prior to working in HE I worked with children and young people in a range of community settings including primary schools, charities and as deputy principal for Theatre In Me School of Performing Arts.
